Aged Musicians supported

Events powerhouse, Charter House has donated a cheque of GHC15,000 to the Welfare Fund for old Musicians.
Executive Director of Charter House, Theresa Ayoade who led the team that presented the cheque stated that some years back, her organization decided that every year, they will make some donation towards the fund for the aged musicians.
She talked about Charter House’ interest in nurturing musical talents in the country through their flagship Stars Of The Future program. She thanked MUSIGA for the continuous support over the years.
The President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour who received the cheque on behalf of the Union touched on certain key things that the Union is embarking on to enhance the industry.
He touched on the research the Union is conducting and how it will benefit the Union and other agencies in general on any future help and investments. He thanked Charter House for the very cordial relationship that has existed between the two organizations for all these while.
MUSIGA and Charter House have had a cordial relationship that dates as far back as 1999 when the former decided on an awards scheme for Ghanaian Music. This led to the birth of the Ghana Music Awards which has grown from a one day awards ceremony to a three day event that among other things organizes forums on the music industry in Ghana.
MUSIGA’s role in the GMA has always rather been in the background yet it has been phenomenal. A foundation called the Vodafone Ghana Music Foundation will be launched during the launch of VGMA 2013. This foundation will deal with developmental issues for the industry.
Rex Omar, an Executive Member of MUSIGA thanked Charter House for remembering the aged musicians and also for keeping to their promise of helping them.
