Comedy in
Ghana is set to take a step further in the right direction as entertainment TV channel
GH One is coming out with a comedy reality TV show dubbed Laugh Out
Loud GH.
Set to be the biggest search
in the history of GH Comedy, the show welcomes every comedian from
every corner of the country to an audition. It is open to individual
comedians as well as group comedy acts.
For comedians who think they have
the attitude and style to crack ribs like the very best in the business, Laugh
Out Loud GH is the right platform for them to launch their comedy
career.
It is the search for the
funniest man in GH so comedians are encouraged to beef up their material and
get ready for a life-changing career platform.
For over
eight years, Charterhouse Ghana, parent company of GH One and producers of the
biannual Night of 1000 laughs series, has entertained Ghanaians and unearthed
some commendable comedy talents.
The winner of the Laugh Loud GH wins
a lucrative performance contract plus a debut performance at the
RLG Independence Day comedy jam in March, which is one of GH’s biggest comedy
shows featuring heavyweights like Africa's King of Comedy Basket Mouth, Klint
De Drunk, and others.
The history
of Ghana’s comedy industry can be said to have started from Bob Cole, who featured
in the hilarious movie “I Told You So.” This legend could have easily passed
for a comedian today.
Comedy
legends such as Fritz Baffour and Kwaku Sintim Misa(KSM) have in
their own way helped build the comedy industry.
Benson Ohene
Boateng, aka Funny Face, one of Ghana’s finest comedians, is
undoubtedly putting Ghana on the world map when comedy is mentioned.
Comedians can register for an audition
slot by texting their name to 1758 across all networks and catch
the search team at the GHOne studios today.
Laugh Out Loud GH will for the next
couple of weeks air on GH One TV as a reality TV show.
Days and times will soon be announced.
