Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has released her much-awaited first VCD/DVD collection onto the market. The soul-inspiring production has almost all the various collections and hit tracks of the veteran singer.
Prior to the release, Ohemaa toured the United States where she gave over 17 performances in various states, much to the admiration of her fans.
The release of the videos is to prepare the gospel queen for her second Tahilla concert in March, which will see seasoned artistes coming from Ghana and abroad to perform.
The grand medal award recipient has set the bar in this production: the videos are produced on high budgets and shot by seasoned video experts including the 2012 video director of the year, Kwasi Oduro, and Kilos of Infocus.
Shot at locations in Accra, Ohemaa expressed the difficulty and stress she went through to produce the videos. “It wasn’t easy shooting the videos but the production of good videos forms part of my new ministry and direction. It is also important to bring out world-class productions to satisfy the people who patronise our works,” she said.
Her new management, led by Ernest Kwesi Ennin of Media Excel Production, was the recipient of the record label of the year award at the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards.
With much expertise in music production, events and artiste management, the team has proposed new production and management arrangements to put the veteran musician onto the African market with huge financial benefits.
Ennin noted that management believes the production of the DVD will satisfy her huge fan base by getting very good home gospel videos to enjoy.
Media Excel has started discussions with Silverbird Cenimas to start premiering the videos in their cinemas this year.
Ohemaa will also be taking the opportunity to tour some selected churches across the country, which will precede the Tahilla concert.

“We are urging all fans to get copies of the VCD/DVD to enable the queen move to all locations during this period,” Ennin said.
Operations Director of Media Excel, Isaac Twum Ampofo, said this year’s Tahilla concert will be the best to be shown live on television. He expressed the hope that corporate organisations would come on board to sponsor the event.
Ohemaa Mercy is one of Ghana’s finest gospel stars with over five albums to her credit. Her recent album, “Prophecy”, produced by media excel productions, is already doing well.
